Moving Up Day

Tomorrow your child will be moving up to their new class and meeting their new teacher.  We will also be welcoming our new Reception children, who will also be coming into school for their visit.

Reception Class

Reception Class parents are invited to attend a Transition meeting on Wednesday 13th July at 2.30pm. This is an opportunity for you to come along and discuss your child’s move from Reception to Year 1 and meet Lyndsay Gray, who will be our Year 1 teacher from September.  We look forward to seeing you.

Tuesday 12th July Sports day and Summer Fayre

Our Sports Day will take place next Tuesday morning beginning at approximately 9.15am; everyone is welcome to come along. After lunch we will have our annual Summer Fayre which will start around 1.15pm. Thank you to those parents who have volunteered however we still urgently need help both on the day and to help organise and set up.

Mrs Dalby and Mrs Capalongo from the Friends of St. Mark’s both do a fantastic job but they really do need more help, “many hands make light work as they say ”! So please let the office know if you can spare any time at all to help out. Thank you in anticipation of your support. Donations of the following will be most appreciated;

Prizes for our tombola stall with a summer theme (bats, balls etc.,) or any unwanted gifts (these must be in good condition) toys, (these again must be in good condition) sweets. Cakes for our cake stall, I know we have some parents who are fantastic cooks! Can I ask that all donations be sent in by Friday with the exception of cakes which should be brought in next Tuesday morning. Thank you

Leavers Service

Our leavers service will begin at 9am in school, further information will follow.

School will break up for the Summer break. We will return to school on Tuesday 6th September. Monday 5th is a Teacher .Training Day

Leavers Disco

There will be a whole school disco on 20th July, this is to celebrate  Year 6’s last week in St. Mark’s.   This will begin at 6pm until 7.15pm, the cost is £1.50 payable at the door.  If you are able to help out on the night can you please leave your name at the office.

Buddies Picnic

We thought it would be a lovely idea for our Reception and Year 6 children to spend some quality ‘buddy’ time together before the end of term.   You should now have received a letter about our picnic on the Gala Field.  Can we ask for a small donation of food eg., biscuits, buns or crisps, towards our picnic.  All donations should be sent into your child’s class on the day.   I am sure the children will really enjoy this special time.  Thank you for your support.

Parking Outside School

Dear Parents/Carers

It has been brought to my attention once again that parking outside school is becoming an issue. Can I ask parents that when dropping off or collecting children to remember to park with due care and consideration. I would also like to remind parents that for health and safety reasons the yellow box immediately outside the gates at the front of school must be kept clear at all times. Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
