Our new Assistant Head Teacher Mr. Jason Cochrane will be joining us after Christmas and will work in Year 4 each Thursday and Friday.

Football news

Well done to our football team who were playing a league match at Walbottle Campus before half term.  They played three matches, (drew 2 and won one).

Reading Record Diaries

Could you please make sure that your child have their reading diaries with them in school each day.  Thank you.

Parent Evenings

A reminder that the first of our parents evenings is this Thursday 3rd November 3.30 pm- 5.30pm , if you are unable to attend there will be another chance for you to see your child’s teacher on Monday 7th November 4.30pm –6.30pm
I will be available on both evenings, should you wish to speak to me.

School Photographs

As mentioned in previous newsletters, Focal Point photographers will be in school tomorrow morning.  Each child will have an individual photograph taken, children who have siblings in school will also have their photographs taken together.  If you have a child who attends nursery or another school and would like them to have their photographs taken with siblings in St. Mark’s can I ask that you arrive in school for 8.20am.

Street Dance

Our Thursday Street Dance sessions with Patrick will begin again next Thursday, as parents evening will be taking place this week.

Football Training with Mr. Wood

Mr. Wood’s training will begin again as usual this week.  If the weather is poor and Mr. Wood feels that sessions need to be cancelled we will text parents well in advance to let them know.

School Christmas Lunch

This year our children will have their Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 14th December. If your child usually brings a packed lunch to school, but would like a Christmas dinner priced at £1.90 could you please write a short note with your child’s name, and their class and hand it into the school office together with payment by Friday 11th November.  If your child has any special dietary requirements e.g; is vegetarian could you please let us know (we would appreciate it if the correct money is enclosed).  Unfortunately we are unable to take names after the cut off date as our cook Mrs Elliott needs to pre order Christmas food and have dinner numbers well in advance.

Enterprise Week

Once again our Enterprise week proved to be a huge success, not only did the children and staff have a brilliant week but we also managed to raise an amazing £642.37.    This money will be sent off to CAFOD.  Thank you once again for your fantastic support.

1st November Newsletter

Dear Parent/Carer
Welcome back to our last half term of 2011 I hope you all had a restful holiday.
I would like to thank you all for the generosity shown for our Harvest Festival. The donations received were greatly appreciated.  We have already received a number of ’Thank you’ cards from some of the parishioners who received a parcel.  All other donations were collected by St. Vincent De Paul.
I was also delighted that so many parents were able to come along to our service. I am sure you will agree the children all worked really hard on their performances.
